Alison Doody

Alison Doody has been an Irish actor and model since 11 November 1996. Alison Doody made her film debut as an actress and Bond actress with the film A View to a Kill, (1985). Then she was as a character in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade in 1989. She played Nazi sympathetic archaeologist Elsa Schneider. There were also roles for Siobhan Dovan on the film A Prayer for the Dying (1987) Charlotte in Taffin (1988) as well as Rebecca Flannery in Major League II (1994). Doody started modeling after being invited by a professional photographer. The result was an enviable modeling career in the commercial world. Doody tried to stay clear of glamour and nude roles, that was a rule she incorporated into her acting. If she came to the director's attention for a James Bond film, Doody accepted a minor role on the film A View to a Kill (1985). Doody was named one of the 12 most promising new Actors from 1986 in John Willis Screen World, Volume. 38. At just 18 when she appeared in the character Doody was and is the youngest Bond girl to date. A Prayer for the Dying starring Mickey Rourke also had a role for Doody in the character of IRA Siobhan. Doody was unspoken in the film as Archibald Craven's wife Lilias during the film adaptation of his fantasy, 1987's version from The Secret Garden. The Storyteller's episode Sapsorrow was her first lead role. It aired in 1988 with John Hurt, Dawn France as well as Jennifer Saunders. The actress played Pierce Brosnan, in the 1988 film Taffin. In the following film, she played her greatest role as Austrian Nazisympathiser and Archaeologist Dr. Elsa Schneider playing alongside Harrison Ford. The film also starred Sean Connery as Indy's father Doody has acted alongside three actors who have portrayed James Bond. In the year 1991, Doody was co-starring with Jonathan Pryce in British mini-series Selling Hitler inspired by the published fraud known as The Hitler Diaries. Then, she moved to Hollywood. The role she played was Flannery as Flannery in Major League II, opposite Charlie Sheen. Doody played a role in the 2002 British comedy The Actors. Michael Caine was her character in a celebration in recognition of an award. In 2004, she starred alongside Patrick Swayze as a television adaptation of King Solomon's Mines. She played a role as a character in Benjamin's Struggle, a 2005 publication about the Holocaust. Doody filming a character in the film of Danny Dyer, The Rapture. The Clinic, a medical drama, aired on RTE. The Asphyx was the remake she made in 2011. In 2011 she began the first season of two in the E4 comedy show Beaver Falls playing Pam Jefferson. In 2014, she was a part of We Still Kill the Old Way. In November, she won the Almeria tierra de Cine Award and was awarded a Star on Almeria's Walk of Fame.
